Once down the hill in disbelief at just how gnarly it was, Ted kept saying “my run won’t hold up.” And while it didn’t look pretty, in the end, all racers except for one had huge troubles with the flat light and windy (as in winding road) Val d’Isere conditions.

“It never felt good the entire way down the course, but to be in second place now is pretty good,” Ligety said. “It was just a struggle today, nobody was gonna feel good, so I was able to use my GS skills and have a decent-enough run.”

For those in the USA and Canada, you can catch the replay on http://universalsports.com. It’s actually quite comical to watch the racers come down, almost each one cussin’ up a storm in all kinds of languages, pissed because of the flat light and having to pizza slice their way down the sketchy hill.

Gotta knock on wood, but it’s looking like Ted’s confidence is definitely working its way up and might be on its way to peaking around February for the Vancouver Olympics…  Keep chargin!
