Ted Shred Wins Small Crystal Globe in GS at Garmisch Finals

Congratulations Ted on your 2008 repeat of the GS crystal globe!

Consistency and poise over the entire season earned him this victory at the World Cup finals in Garmisch Partenkirchen, Germany.

”I made some mistakes but so did many other guys, this is a new hill, totally new course,” he said. After a third place first run, Ligety put together an uncharacteristically conservative second run to tie for 3rd with Austria’s Philipp Schoerghofer. “It’s always better to tie someone than be one hundredth behind, so I was happy to be on the podium,” Ligety said.

That was enough to earn him the globe for GS this season.
